Poo Ice Cream
Poo Ice Cream
Would you like your main course served in a toilet pan, would you like your chocolate ice cream looking like a twirly turd?

Well there is a chain of restaurants called Modern Toilet in the Far East that brings together base toilet humour and food.

Not sure if it would take off here in the UK, but then again....

Curry King in Cambridge - bad, do not go

Bad Review
Bad Review
We at efnic.co.uk rarely like to give bad reviews.

However, sometimes you come across a place that you just need to warn others about.

Curry King in Cambridge is just one of those places.

They hassle you in trying to upsell extra side dishes, rice and nan, even though you have said several times that you are OK.

There was only two of us in the restaurant and when we started to eat our meal they turned the heating on. I asked them to turn it down and he laughed whilst doing so. My wife was only half way through her drink and suddenly it was do you want another one.

They added a "s/c" onto the bill for £4, which was for service charge that brough the meal up to just over £40. So more than 10%.

What a bunch of jokers.

I hope this restaurant truly becomes a casualty of the credit crunch and gets shut down for good.

Baozi Inn, Chinatown

Baozi Inn

25 Newport Court, London WC2H 7JS. Tel: 020 7287 6877

Strange little place this restaurant. I sat down underneath a large photo of Chairman Mao. The seat was in the shape of what I assume is traditional wooden seats in rural china, like the ones bandied around during kung fu fight scenes in some ancient teahouse.

Anyway I digress.

The food was supposed to be provincial spicy Sichuan cuisine. I went for the spicy beef noodles along with a side dish of spinach and ginger juice. I was expecting just a small dish of spinach but it was a bit of a huge pile with nuts sprinkle on. I realy liked that.

The noddles I thought were a bit indifferent, not wildly spicy but then again I am probably thankful as I am sure that had it been the full Sichuan heat I might have been reeling.

What I should have done was to try one of the large steamed buns they had on the menu, as everybody else seemed to order them, especially those more efnic than I.

A review on Metro.

Kolbeh, Iranian restaurant
Written by Administrator

There is a new Iranian restaurant in Bournemouth called Kolbeh.

The kebab style main dishes that we got were very tasty, tender and juicy kebabs of minced lamb and flattened lamb fillet.

It is opposite the police station on Lansdowne Road.

Nippon Inn, Bournemouth

Nippon Inn, 124 Charminster Road, Bournemouth, BH8 8UT. Tel: 01202 258 859

A new Japanese restaurant has opened up in Bournemouth. Located on Charminster Road it is easy to get to albeit it a pain in the ass to find some parking at night.

The are brand new and sort of finding their feet. They are only opened a few days per week and have a pretty limited menu in my opinion but that makes good sense as a business though.

A group of us went along on Friday night to check it out. We practically had everything on the evening menu. After we ate our first order we ordered again. Throw in the 6 pints of Asahi beer, bottle of white wine, green tea and a soft drink then everything came to just £15 per head. I thought that was really fantastic value for money.

The chicken wings were a big hit. The noodles a bit disappointing. Sushi was OK.

Time will tell if they will grow but we hope so. It was sad to see the other Japanese restaurants in Bournemouth come and go.
