Red sky at night, Shepherds Pie

Red sky in morning, Cottage Pie.

I thought I would just quickly list the differences between similar recipes or sounding dishes as they are sometimes the centre of frivolous office debate.

Shepherd's Pie - only made from lamb or mutton eg the meat comes from a sheep
Cottage Pie - made with mince or any other meat

Quiche - mainly egg or cheese based and savoury. Pastry based.
Flan - more custard or souffle based. Can be sweet or savoury. Can be sponge or pastry based.

Sushi - sushi is all about rice with either a topping that could be raw fish, egg omlette and so on. There are also rolled sushi where rice and other ingredients are rolled with a seaweed wrapper and sliced into smaller bite-sized pieces. Sushi doesn't have to be about raw fish as you can get vegetarian variety with egg, avocado or cucumber for example.
Sashimi - this is just pure slices of premium raw fish or seafood. Could even be beef. No rice to be seen.
