OK, so this is not of the alcoholic kind and maybe it could even go into the Health section but I just wanted to get a few notes down on Japanese green tea as it is really nice and supposedly very good for you. Don't confuse Japanese green tea to those that are packaged as Green Tea but from China. They are quite different things and definitely far apart with regards to their tastes. It is quite funny how as a British Born Chinese I absolutely love Japanese green tea and my Japanese friends always talk about drinking Chinese Oolong tea.

Majestic Wines have just released their new newsletter for Autumn. Highlights are 20% off a range of South African, Spanish, Portugese and Argentinian wines. I'm tempted to go for a few bottles of the Lanson Gold Label 1997 vintage champagne. We received two cases of Gold Label as a wedding gift, which went left for a few more years turned into something fantastic. We only have the one bottle left which we will open on our 10th anniversary, so it makes a good excuse to stock up and stash away. Never been a big fan of their Black label so I keep clear of that one. For those into their Belgium Trappist beers, there is a Chimay multi-pack with a free glass. Check out their website for more info. Add a Comment |

This has got to be the best cocktail out there, well maybe not the one with the most finesse but it blows your socks away. I love it. I even fell asleep on the walk back from the toilet after spending most of the night drinking the ones I made myself. My forehead took a little graze on the metal strip and holds the carpet on the floor underneath the door, but apart from that I was OK! Recipe is simple: Equal measures of Barcardi , Gin, Vodka, Triple Sec and Tequila and top up with Coke . For me it has to be Coke Cola, as Pepsi gives it a different taste to my liking. A squeeze of lime juice is good. Normally at home I don't have Tequila, so I just make it with the rest. A Long Island Iced Tea makes a good start or finish to the evenings proceedings.
