This has got to be the best cocktail out there, well maybe not the one with the most finesse but it blows your socks away. I love it. I even fell asleep on the walk back from the toilet after spending most of the night drinking the ones I made myself. My forehead took a little graze on the metal strip and holds the carpet on the floor underneath the door, but apart from that I was OK! Recipe is simple: Equal measures of Barcardi , Gin, Vodka, Triple Sec and Tequila and top up with Coke . For me it has to be Coke Cola, as Pepsi gives it a different taste to my liking. A squeeze of lime juice is good. Normally at home I don't have Tequila, so I just make it with the rest. A Long Island Iced Tea makes a good start or finish to the evenings proceedings. Sounds odd I know but South Deep Cafe is a small (very small!) cafe at the Parkstone Bay Marina. South Deep is an area in Poole Harbour for those who wonder. The cafe serves the small marina by day but in the evenings serves food and drinks. Wine and beer list is limited but enough but the food is good. Thursday nights is Tapas night and costs only £6 per person, you get one or everything and a dish of rice or similar. It's good food and good value. From 7pm.
The chef is Stephané and used to be head chef at The Cow in Parkstone, next to the station. Friday is set menu night, 2 courses and £12.50. An example menu shows three starter options, three mains (steak, sea bass or chicken) and Créme brulee & sorbe, strawberries with ice cream or cheeses. Well worth a visit! http://www.southdeepcafe.co.uk/ - (web site in progress ;) )

A great chain of Portugese chargrilled chicken restaurants. They have a selection of different strength Peri Peri sauce, like west Indian pepper sauce. You choose a strength and your chicken is marrianaded in it. There's a selection of extras such as Peri Peri chips, corn cobs, rice and salad. It's all served up fast and you get all the soft drink refills you can take. Add a Comment (2 Comments) |
