If you haven't been to Oriental City in Colindale, North London then you need to hurry as there are plans by the owner to demolish it and redevelop. Obviously the current tenants are a bit up in arms about the whole deal and raises concerns over what is a central focal point for the East Asian community.
If you have never been there it is a complex of small shops, a games arcade, restaurants, a supermarket and a food hall. The food hall is a fantastic mix of Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian and Singaporean food to name a few. So you can get a great mix of dim sum, sushi, roast duck and spicy noodles if that takes your fancy, and I do.
Afterwards you can always do some shopping in the supermarket to stock up on soy sauce and so on. Even Ian Wright, the ex-Arsenal footballer, is getting in on the case and providing his support as a regular visitor. He understands the importance of it to both the East Asian community but also as service to the general public.
