Bill Hicks - Relentless Bill Hicks unfortunately died young from smoking, he even says it in this DVD, called Relentless . Irony is lost on the Americans it seems, but this guy is hilariousThe show was shown at the Montreal Comedy Festival. Fantastic observational comedy. I think the Canadians got the jist more than an American audience but I am sure he would have got a lot more laughs on the UK circuit.
He tackles it all: sex, smoking, Iraq, UFOs, religion and everything else. There is even a book of letters and his writings. This DVD was filmed in 1991 and it is so raw and full of emotion. When he's blowing the microphone he really hates those morons in society that he is having a go at. The noise just drowns out the stage. There is a lot of venom there. I have an inkling that there was some hurt there as well. The pieces where he mentions his parents congratulating him on using his sketches in his given name across the world, seems ironic, feels ironic and a little dark. Smoking through a hole in your neck or through your butt. That sums up his life. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. Powered by AkoComment! |
