Pottering around the house I had Radio 2 on and heard this Japanese song in between the Beatles and familiar UK pop stars.

A quirky song and I wondered what it was all about. Well the artist is Kyu Sakamoto and the song is called Sukiyaki. Very 60s definitely.  I thought, is it really about the Japanese one-pot cooking?

Actually in Japan the song was called "Ue o Muite Aruko". Still no clearer for me then!
