As any student knows, especially those from Hong Kong studying in the UK, that these are the staple diet for those on lowly student grants. Well it was when I was in Birmingham! There is nothing more satisfying than plonking a fried egg or two on top of a steaming bowl of noodles, meat and vegetables. The fact that the soft yolk oozes out just makes it even better. I like to fry them so that they are sizzled to give them an extra bite to their texture. Unfortunately the inventor of the packet noodles has died.

If you haven't been to Oriental City in Colindale, North London then you need to hurry as there are plans by the owner to demolish it and redevelop. Obviously the current tenants are a bit up in arms about the whole deal and raises concerns over what is a central focal point for the East Asian community. Add a Comment (1 Comments) |

Gene from work found this web site that seems to be able to plan a journey from any two end points in the UK which takes into account buses, trains, tube and so on. www.transportdirect.info

This is always a handy bar whenever I stop overnight in Bristol. Usually it is to sleep overnight on the padded floor of the converted church opposite which is now a martial arts centre. The Hope and Anchor sits half way down Jacobs Wells Road in Clifton, Bristol. The post code is BS8 1DR if you have a SatNav. They have a good range of beers and lagers, and the food is really good for such a small place. There is also cider for you West Country bumpkins or wanabees. Don't sit too near the door as it is always one drafty place, and mind the cat as I accidentally stood on it when I went there last time. Felt so sorry and guilty. Oops. Add a Comment |

I just have to say that the footage, week on week, on the BBC series of Planet Earth is simply amazing. The sheer clarity of it all and the closeness of it all makes you marvel at how the camera people were able to skillfully catpure it all, and amongst danger as well. Kudos to the BBC for bringing this to its viewers. Add a Comment |

158 Commercial Road, Bournemouth. Tel: 01202 318 900
I have passed this place so many times since we moved to Bournemouth. We've also said many times that we must try it, so we finally did.
We've been on holiday to Portugal twice and once to Madeira, so it was nice to meet up with a couple of friends in this Portuguese restaurant, which I believe is the only one in Bournemouth. I think there is a small Portuguese bar in Boscombe though.

In case you have a few hours to kill and want to read a few blogs and check out some seriously great photos, then try these links to some web sites and blogs regarding visits the famous Fat Duck restaurant in Bray. The food looks absolutely amazing and supposedly takes three and a half hours to get through the whole menu. Would love to go here one day but will have to save up... Add a Comment (1 Comments) |
