I have passed this place so many times since we moved to Bournemouth. We've also said many times that we must try it, so we finally did.

We've been on holiday to Portugal twice and once to Madeira, so it was nice to meet up with a couple of friends in this Portuguese restaurant, which I believe is the only one in Bournemouth. I think there is a small Portuguese bar in Boscombe though.

Anyway, onto the place and food. Three of us had fried squid and one had the sardines. The sardines looked large and meaty and the squid was nice, grilled with a garlic and wine sauce.

For our main courses we had three Espetada, two mixed and one beef, and one steak. All very meaty indeed.

Espetada is a Portuguese speciality which is basically a large skewer of meat but it is hung vertically on your table with butter literally dripping down through the meat, keeping it very succulent.

The only downside with having a pork and beef kebab, is that you couldn't have the beef doen medium unless that's how you like your pork! Not me thanks. There was lots of chips and rice that went along with it.

All in all it was enjoyable. In the end with a few coffees and a tip, it worked out to £44 per couple, including a round of drinks.

They didn't have any Sagres Brown but had the Super Bock equivalent with is a Portuguese stout/dark beer. Slightly sweet taste, very nice.
